Summer Programs
Velocity Running Club is offering three summer options to keep your kids moving!!
Summer 1 Mile -- Three locations to choose from: Clinton, Syracuse or West Point. Fun and games that keep kids moving in the summer and get them ready for a 1 Mile race.
Summer Track Skills Clinic --- Get your kids skills locked in with our expert coaches. Discus, Shot, and Turbo Jav techniques and skills will be taught. Dates June 9th & 10th.
Summer Track --- Train to compete in USATF track meets and try to make it to Nationals. *USATF Membership required and separate. Meet Entry payment is separate.

Ages
Summer 1M: Ages 6-12. Born in the years 2014-2020
Summer T&F: Ages 9-15, Born in the years 2011-2017
Summer Skills Clinic: Ages 11-18. Born in the years 2008-2015
When
Summer 1M: This season begins in early June and ends the first week of July.
Summer T&F:
- Ogden begins May 18
- Clinton begins June 1

Where
Summer 1M: We offer the following summer locations to choose from. Practices start June 1.
- East Park in West Point, MW 9-10 am
- Lakeside Elementary in Clinton, TTH 7-8 am
- Rock Creek Park, TTH, 9-10 am
Summer T&F:
- Ben Lomond HS, Practices start May 18, MTH 5-6 pm, then after May 25, MTH, 9-10 am
- Clinton: Practices start June 1, MW @Lakeside Elementary, 7-8 am
Summer Skills Clinic:
- Bonneville High School, June 9 & 10th, 6-7:30 pm
Practices
Running based with an emphasis on fun and keeping our bodies healthy and moving. Summer T&F will include some field-based instruction for throwing and jumping.
The Summer Skills Clinic will cover shot, disc and javelin throwing. Former collegiate throwers Alex Bunot and Brian Lindquist will teach this class for ages 11-18.
Cost
Summer 1M: $90 includes two practices a week for six weeks, plus a shirt.
Summer Track:
- Ogden: $150 includes two practices a week for 6 weeks, plus a racing singlet (tank top). Other Costs: A USATF Membership is required ($35), as well as entry to each meet (usually $8/event).
- Clinton: $110, includes two practices a week for 4 weeks, practices a week for 6 weeks, plus a racing singlet (tank top). Other Costs: A USATF Membership is required ($35), as well as entry to each meet (usually $8/event).
Summer Skills Clinic: $42

- May 30 @ Corner Canyon High School Run with the Wolves
- June 6 @ Timpanogos High School USATF Developmental Meet
- June 25-27 @ Timpanogos High School USATF UTAH Jr Olympics (must participate in to compete at Nationals)
- July 9-11 @ Idaho State University Region 11 JO T&F Championships (Top 8 in each age group event advance to Nationals)
- July 27-Aug 2 @ Norwalk, CA USATF National JO T&F Championships
Scholarships
Scholarships are available for those in need. You must apply before registering to receive the scholarship.
Summer Skills Clinic- Throws
Taught by former collegiate throwers Alex Bunot and Brian Lindquist, this javelin, shotput and discus clinic will teach skills and techniques to improve throwing distance. For ages 11-18.

Would you like to compete in more track meets? Have the opportunity to make it to USATF Nationals? If you answered yes, this season is for you! Two practices a week and an opportunity to compete at 3 USATF meets!
RegisterSummer 1 Mile 2026
A fun summer program for kids age 6-12 that trains kids for a 1 mile race. Practice 2x/week for 1 hour. Our program is a great way to keep your kids moving and having fun this summer!
